Academy of Television Arts & Sciences
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences -- founded one month after network television was born in 1946 -- is a non-profit corporation devoted to the advancement of telecommunications arts and sciences and to fostering creative leadership in the telecommunications industry. In addition to recognizing outstanding programming and individual and engineering achievements for Primetime and Los Angeles Area programming, ATAS sponsors meetings, conferences and activities for collaboration on a variety of topics involving traditional broadcast interests, new media and emerging digital technology. The Academy publishes Emmy magazine, produces the ATAS Hall of Fame and through the ATAS Foundation, is responsible for the ATAS Archive of American Television (AAT), ATAS/UCLA Television Archives, ATAS Foundation Library at USC, College Television Awards, the Internship Program, S.T.A.R.T. Communications, the Visiting Artists Program and the Faculty Seminar.

AFMA
AFMA, formerly known as the American Film Marketing Association, was established in 1980 by a group of distributors whose main goal was to expand the independent film business by creating a world-class trade show, the American Film Market (AFM). Today, AFMA has evolved into the trade association for the independent film and television industry worldwide, while the AFM concurrently has become the largest international film market in the world.
African American TV & Filmmakers
The African American TV & Filmmakers (AATF) is a not-for-profit, tax exempt, organization that was incorporated in February of 1997, in Chicago, Illinois to bridge a gap in media representation for diversity of African Americans in the television and film industries. AATF provides a building block of cultural diversity in education and support performances in these industries as well as the preservation and cultural awareness.

Association of Independent Commercial Producers
Founded in 1972, by a small group of television commercial production companies concerned with a single issue, today's AICP has grown to represent exclusively, the interests of United States companies that specialize in producing commercials on various media - film, video, computer - for advertisers and agencies. AICP members account for 85 percent of all domestic commercials aired nationally, whether produced for traditional broadcast channels or non-traditional use.

The Chicago Film Critics Association maintains professional, charitable and educational goals, overseeing: * Chicago Film Critics Awards - Held annually, this newsworthy and prestigious event honors outstanding film works, performances and individuals. * Critic Roundtables - This informal gathering of critics is held at colleges and universities to engage the public in critical discussion. * Friends of the Critics - While a non-voting membership, it provides film lovers greater access to the film community through a quarterly newsletter, networking events and fundraising activities. * "A Day at the Movies" - This innovative arts/media literacy program sends inner city schoolchildren on "film field trips" with their teachers. * Industry & Rights Issues - The association takes a stand on important issues affecting the industry and/or artists' rights, issuing an official statement from its 40+ membership.

Chicago Filmmakers is a 30 year-old media arts organization that fosters the creation, appreciation and understanding of film and video as media for artistic and personal expression, as well as media of important social and community impact. Our mission is to provide an opportunity for artists to make films outside the mainstream marketplace, to distribute and exhibit this work, as well as to build audiences and to increase media attention for it. Recognizing the impact of mass media in contemporary society, it is additionally our goal to provide culturally diverse audiences with alternative images to those reflected in mainstream media and to broaden access to media education to include those typically left out of the process.

Cinema/Chicago
Cinema/Chicago is the presenting organization of the Chicago International Film Festival, North America’s oldest competitive international film festival. Founded in 1964 by award winning filmmaker and graphic designer Michael Kutza, the Festival’s goals were the same then as they are now: to discover and present new filmmakers to Chicago, and to acknowledge and award these filmmakers for their artistry. The first Festival opened in 1965 at the Carnegie Theater, where directors King Vidor, Stanley Kramer, and actress Bette Davis were honored for their contributions to American cinema. Since then, the Festival has grown to become a world-renowned annual event.

Doc Films at the University of Chicago
Doc Films is on record with the Museum of Modern Art as the longest continuously running student film society in the nation. In 1932, students formed the organization, which was then known as the Documentary Film Group, projecting 16mm documentaries from the back of a crowded classroom. Students have channeled their continuing love for the cinema into a world-class screening venue.

International Latino Cultural Center
To develop, promote and increase awareness of Latino cultures among Latinos and other communities through film and video events, education, and other art forms. Most recognized for the production of the Chicago Latino Film Festival, ILCC has screened more than 900 films and videos, including many award-winners that otherwise would have never been shown in Chicago; sponsored workshops and discussions with more than 500 visiting filmmakers; and hosted more than 100 foreign journalists.

The Kansas Film Commission staff also is available as on-set liaison for difficult or sensitive locations. Location Scouting: Assistance in finding locations. Thousands of location photographs are available in the Film Commission's location library and with a network of community contacts, practically any location your script requires can be found. Scouting is provided free-of-charge by the Kansas Film Commission. The Mobius Advertising Awards were founded in 1971. Originally established as The U.S. Television Commercials Festival for the recognition of Television Commercials, the event was an immediate success and, due to demand, soon added Radio Commercials followed later by Print Advertising and Package Designs. Recording Musicians Association
In 1983 a group of studio musicians from major US and Canadian recording cities formed the nonprofit International Recording Musicians Association. They were determined to guarantee effective representation in AFM contract negotiations and other affairs affecting the livelihoods of professional recording musicians Today, RMA representatives are directly involved in every aspect of the AFM that affects studio musicians. RMA monitors the performance of royalty funds and the AFM Employers Pension Fund. In addition, RMA continues to expand in scope, becoming active not only in Washington politics - regularly meeting with Congress on issues pertaining to recording musicians - but also on the international scene.

Urban American Filmmakers Workshop
UAFW is the only program of its kind that specifically addresses the unique challenges that face today's urban filmmakers. In our efforts to demystify the filmmaking process and provide access to all aspiring filmmakers, we've decided to bring the secrets of Hollywood directly to this under-represented group. Established filmmakers, industry executives, and actors are brought in to serve as lecturers and speakers. This two-day intensive workshop and networking event tours seven major cities and is expected to reach approximately 3,000 urban filmmakers and film lovers each year.
