Jason Seiler At Energy BBDO’s Creative Salon Series Tomorrow

Caricature Artist Jason Seiler will be the latest to appear at the Energy BBDO Creative Salon Series tomorrow, Aug. 16 at 4 p.m. at the agency’s office, 410 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago.

Seiler, pronounced sigh-ler, finds truth in exaggeration and executes this work in an elaborate way. He applies traditional drawing and painting techniques to digital portraiture, resulting in intricately detailed caricatures of famous mugs for the likes of the New York Times and Rolling Stone magazine.

A self-proclaimed “traditional painter at heart,” Seiler creates these near “but deliberately not quite” photo-realistic caricatures by sketching and painting directly onto his computer’s LCD display. Lil Wayne, Mick Jagger, Donald Trump, and even President Barack Obama have all been reimagined by Seiler for major publications.

Seiler also designed several characters for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, including the Tweedles and the Red Queen.
