Last Call for Ad Pros!

It’s last call for Advertising Community Shorts Night!
This program from the Midwest Independent Film Festival is solely dedicated to the films we make when we’re not working on commercials. In its fourth year, this effort features an all-star selection jury, which includes Leo Burnett Head of Production Vincent Geraghty, BBDO Head of Production Rowley Samuel and DDB VP, Executive Producer Brigette Whisnant.
Sponsored by The Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP) and a host of Midwest companies, the advertising shorts night will feature original short films including music videos and animated pieces produced, directed, edited and scored by the best of the Midwest’s commercial industry.
"This is an amazing opportunity for people in the community to break free of the creative constrictions and approval layers that can sometimes get in the way of truly breakthrough work,” says John Noble, EP/Managing Director, Eyeball. He adds, “Plus it’s a great way for vendors to collaborate with agency creatives on projects that otherwise might not see the light of day. It's an occasion for the whole creative community to shine."
Although many participants are shooting shorts specifically for this competition, entrants can submit films that are already in the can as long as the piece was produced between 2009-2012. Filmmakers can also submit as many films as they’d like, but must be gainfully employed in the advertising and/or commercial production company.
