Hurwit Joins Nola

Nola Pictures has expanded its directorial roster by signing Bruce Hurwit, a multi-discipline, award-winning filmmaker. Hurwit brings a wealth of experience in television, film, and advertising, where he has earned a reputation for his off-kilter visual aesthetic, expert comedic timing, and unparalleled instincts for casting instantly memorable characters.

“Our production team is absolutely thrilled to be reunited with Bruce,” says Nola EP Charlie Curran. “When you work with Bruce you’re immediately drawn in by his unique energy. He is unbelievably quick and insightful, and he has an incredible knack for the casting process and coaxing pitch-perfect performances from his actors.”

Hurwit is eager to enter the fray.

“I am very excited to be back with Charlie,” he says. “He is one of the ‘good guys’ in this business, and he has the rare combination of enthusiasm and experience to make any production as good as it can be. I look forward to being a part of their talented team.”

Hurwit has been recognized by several organizations including MoMA, where his Little Caesars spots remain in their permanent collection. Hurwit’s Little Caesars spot, Focus Group, was also named one of the 10 best spots of the past 20 years by Creativity. Additional industry recognition includes Cannes Lions, CLIOs, and AICP awards.
