WIFC ‘Back Lot’ Event Tonight At Leviathan, Focus Awards Oct. 10

Chicago’s chapter of Women in Film is hosting a Back Lot Tour event tonight, Friday, Sept. 14 at integrated visual media studio Leviathan. They’ve also announced their largest fundraiser of the year, the Focus Achievement Awards Gala is set for Wednesday, October 10th, 2012.

Leviathan opens their doors to showcase emerging mediums and technologies at WIFC’s Back Lot Series on Friday, September 14th at Leviathan’s studio. Their media professionals will demo a range of projects and share info about the company's recent partnership with the inaugural Chicago Expo debut September 19th–23rd, in Festival Hall at Navy Pier. Leviathan is a design-focused production studio specializing in creating large-scale visual experiences across all media. Champions of breakthrough design and branding, Leviathan’s leaders draw from experiences earned inside leading digital agencies, production companies, VFX and motion studios.
Since launching in 2010, the studio’s collaborations with agencies, brands and leading filmmakers have rendered scores of projects across all markets and industries and earned award recognition from the Association of Independent Music, Communication Arts Magazine, the AICP, The One Club, and the Themed Entertainment Association. WIFC’s Board and Focus Achievement Awards’ 2012 Committee honors local superwomen Debbie Amsden (Vice-President, Director of Broadcast, Burrell Communications), Stella Foster (Columnist, The Chicago Sun-Times), Robin Robinson (News Anchor, Fox 32 TV News) and inaugural Hall of Fame inductee Bill Zwecker (Columnist, The Chicago Sun-Times) at the organization’s largest annual fundraising event and gala on Wednesday, October 10th. The celebration will be held at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, 350 North Orleans, Chicago, IL 60654. The event includes cocktails, dinner and an awards presentation with Mistress of Ceremonies Micah Materre (Anchor/Reporter, WGN). The winner of the first WIFC Student Shorts competition will also be honored with a large cash prize and receive tickets to the event.
