September 14, 2012 by Mike McNamara
Watch your six. It’s one of the best films you’ll see this year... Chicago’s own Michael Pena stars alongside Jake Gyllenhall in END OF WATCH, written and directed by TRAINING DAY screenwriter David Ayer. SCREEN’s Mike McNamara sat down with Michael and David to chat about the grueling training and rehearsal process that went into this film, Michael developing a brotherhood with Jake Gyllenhall and what sets this film apart from all other movies in the “cop genre.” Finally, Michael offers advice to actors just getting started in this industry and David talks about the experiences in his life that led him to write rare screenplays like TRAINING DAY and this film, END OF WATCH, which opens in theaters nationwide September 21st.
