Five Questions With SCREEN: Mitch Apley
June 5, 2013 by Screenmag
Mitch Apley, Abelson-Taylor’s director of Broadcast Production, is the latest to answer five (no six) questions with SCREEN.
SCREEN: What's your favorite day of the week? Why?
APLEY: While I love Saturdays, I think on a more objective level, Thursday has always worked pretty hard at beating Friday out for the top weekday slot. It's typically a good mix of work and fun with industry parties and the occasional four-day weekend start – which is awesome when it happens.
SCREEN: Can you cook? If so, what is your go-to dish?
APLEY: Cooking can be fun. Lately I've been experimenting with roasting tomatoes and peppers for a homemade salsa. I shot a short video with Rick Bayless a few years ago, and I've been hooked on his recipes ever since.
SCREEN: What's your favorite drink, alcoholic or otherwise?
APLEY: Vodka on the rocks with a lemon is good. Non-alcoholic would be an old fashioned vanilla malt.
SCREEN: Cubs or Sox?
APLEY: Growing up in Nebraska, we had WGN so… Cubs.
SCREEN: What's your favorite place to spend: a weekend? a week? two weeks?
APLEY: Weekend: A cabin in the woods near a lake somewhere. Week: Cozumel, Mexico. Two Weeks: Somewhere new, overseas, hopefully interesting and a bit dangerous.
SCREEN: What's your favorite gadget?
APLEY: Though not very useful, I have one of those super powerful lasers pointers that's so bright you can see the beam in daylight. My favorite useful gadget would have to be my Leatherman.
