MIND GAMES PREMIERE SET: Mark your calendars! ABC has announced the midseason premiere date for its new series MIND GAMES, starring Steve Zahn and Christian Slater, currently shooting in Chicago. Tuesday, March 11th at 9 pm Central, set your DVRs now… Can you set DVRs three months early?

STILL IN THE THRONE: Filming continues for NIGHT OF THE THRONE, the feature film debut of Chicago filmmaker Ben-Hur Uribe. The production team filmed in the Chicagoland area throughout the fall and will be back at it in January. In THRONE, everyman Jonathan’s morals come into conflict, throwing him into a crisis that he must reconcile. He discovers the world is not what it seemed and perhaps he has the potential to do more than what he thought capable. BELIEVE IN UNICORNS: Producer Nicholas Langholff is developing the family feature THE UNICORNS, eyeing an early 2014 shoot date in Wisconsin. Langholff is developing the script alongside Robert Saba and Payton Dunham, whose film credits include JUNEBUG and A GUIDE TO RECOGNIZING YOUR SAINTS. I’ll keep you posted!

GOLD MEDAL: Filming has wrapped for the indie comedy MEDAL OF VICTORY, which was shot in and around Baraboo, Wisconsin. This feature centers on two soldiers who have gone AWOL but are mistaken for war heroes upon their arrival in Townville. They quickly find themselves embroiled in town politics. Notable cast include Menomenee Falls native Richard Riehle, best known for his hilarious turn as Tom in OFFICE SPACE. MEDAL OF VICTORY was written by Josh Moise, who is also directing the film, and is being produced by UW-Madison alums Mason Hill, Will Blomker and Jason Schumacher. Follow the film here.

ANOTHER WIN FOR WEDNESDAY’S CHILD: Congratulations to director Rocco Cataldo, producer Mary Kay Cook and DP Michael Kwielford on another win for their short film WEDNESDAY’S CHILD. The dark comedy just snagged Best of the Fest honors at this week’s Los Angeles Comedy Festival. More from Potenza Productions here. Midwest is best, people!
