Carol Mendelsohn Answers Five Questions

For this week's Five Questions With SCREEN, we check in with Chicago native, Carol Mendelsohn the showrunner and Executive Producer of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation since it first aired in 2000 (who will also be receiving the Commitment to Excellence Award for Television at next week's Chicago International Film Television Awards).
SCREEN: Can you cook? If so, what is your go-to dish?
MENDELSOHN: When the spirit is willing and I have some free time, give me a recipe and I can cook. My go-to dish is Pastitsio, a Greek Lasagna.
SCREEN: What's your guilty pleasure TV?
MENDELSOHN: : Cinemax's "Strike Back", starring Sullivan Stapelton and Philip Winchester. I am already in mourning as next season will be its last. Got to find another guilty pleasure.
SCREEN: Describe your perfect Sunday.
MENDELSOHN: : Sleep in. Walk the dog. Swim. Walk the dog. Read. Walk the dog. Have a massage. Then, channel surf between all my favorite Sunday night shows.
SCREEN: What's the proudest moment of your career?
MENDELSOHN: CSI hitting 300 episodes. And now we're heading into Season 15.
SCREEN: Best kept secret?
MENDELSOHN: I read the National Enquirer every week and believe every word.
SCREEN: What's your favorite place to spend: a weekend? a week? two weeks?
MENDELSOHN: California's Central Coast for a weekend. Two weeks, I'm off to see the world. My favorite spot so far, Tasmania.
