Joe Schaak Joins TPSC

Joe Schaak, a director known for his comedy and dialogue commercial work, has signed for exclusive representation with integrated production house The Traveling Picture Show Company.

Based in the Midwest, Schaak has been entertaining audiences worldwide with his comedy and dialogue expertise. His creativity and down to earth personality compliment his vast directorial experience and award winning work. Schaak’s resume includes recognition at Cannes, MoMA, Clios, Effies, AICP Show Honor, The One Show and various Addy awards. His work has also been cited in “SHOOT’s Director to Watch”, “Adweek’s Best Spots”, “Communication Arts”, “Boards” and D&AD.

“He has a deft understanding of both the art and commerce sides of directing,” says TPSC Executive Producer John Noble. “Joe’s experience and confidence coupled with his laser focused ability to hone and perfect the communication objective of each and every frame makes him an agency and client favorite.”

“I came to TPSC largely because of the company’s reputation, and EP John Noble; his ability to relate to the agency and his standing amongst the industry really got me excited. I also joined because of the film side. The Traveling Picture Show Company’s integrated approach is an incredible opportunity for me to expand my commercial work into the full spectrum of branded content for broadcast, film, apps and web,” said Schaak. “Now, no matter what you have done as a director – a good director is a good director and can work in all disciplines. The playing field is a little bigger. I’m really excited to gain these opportunities through TPSC.”

Schaak’s latest project includes a documentary about the Embassy Multinational Soccer Tournament that took place in South Africa, 1974. Schaak will be traveling with Neill Roberts, one of the South African soccer players who called this game a catalyst for change. Schaak and Roberts will be interviewing many of the players and revisiting the landmarks.
