One at Optimus Signs Three New Directors to Roster

One at Optimus, the live-action production arm of production and post house Optimus, has added three new directors to its roster. Award-winning Directors Danny J. Boyle, Ben Chappell and Ben Fink further strengthen ONE’s deep creative bench.
“Danny, Ben and Ben bring even more creative power to One at Optimus,” said ONE Director of Production Craig Leffel. “Danny is fun and inventive during every stage of production, from the first phone call to the final shoot. It’s hard to watch his work without cracking a smile. Ben Chappell, with his distinct camera style and firm anchor in cultural relevance, is a master visual storyteller and has extensive documentary experience. Ben Fink, a lifestyle director specializing in food, is a master of traditional tabletop work with years of expertise and many renowned clients. Now, he is breaking through the limitations of tabletop and works with food in far more organic and authentic ways, creatively connecting the viewer to the environment and experience."
Boyle’s television work includes sketch comedy for Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, Disney, FOXTV and MTV. Boyle has helmed spots for such clients as Budweiser, Citibank, MasterCard and McDonalds. He has won numerous awards and collaborated with celebrities including Dana Carvey, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Sean Hayes, Jane Lynch and Joel McHale, to name just a few. He is currently directing “ReactToThat,” a 13-episode Nickelodeon show from YouTube comedy team The Fine Bros., based on their popular web franchise showing kids responding to viral videos. He worked most recently with Optimus on a campaign for Capri Sun exclusive to the Cartoon Network and previously teamed with the production and post house on spots for UT Health, which won several Addy Awards.
Chappell brings a spontaneous style of filmmaking, creating visually arresting commercials and music videos. Rooted in music from a young age, Ben started his career shooting and directing music videos and branded music projects with Arctic Monkeys, The Beach Boys, John Cale, Miley Cyrus, Miranda Lambert, Nas and Rick Ross. That work led to directing opportunities with brands including Beefeater, Converse, Crystal Light, Foot Locker, Sephora, Sony, Vitamin Water, Walmart and Whole Foods. He has teamed with agencies such as Anomaly Amsterdam, Chiat Day, Leo Burnett, Publicis London, and VSA.
Fink is a director and photographer for clients including American Express, Burger King, Eggo Waffles, FedEx, The Food Network, Kohl’s, Kraft Foods, Morningstar Farms and The Ritz Carlton. He is the photographer of choice for some of the most popular food professionals of our day, including Rose Levy Beranbaum, Paula Deen, Guy Fieri, Bobby Flay, Ina Garten and Rachael Ray. His professional awards have included IACP, the James Beard Award, regional and national Addy awards and, most recently, 11 Telly awards for television.
