June 4, 2014 by Screenmag
In the latest installment of our regular running feature, Stephen Neale, Senior Vice President and Executive Creative Director for AbelsonTaylor, answers Five Questions With SCREEN.
SCREEN: Can you cook? If so, what is your go-to dish?
NEALE: I've been told I cook well, especially southwestern dishes. However, my go-to dish is carry-out, so to speak.
SCREEN: Describe your perfect Sunday.
NEALE: Sitting out in our oddly attached gazebo on a hot and humid Chicago evening with family and friends, playing a vintage board game, discussing film and music, both good and bad.
SCREEN: What's your favorite drink, alcoholic or otherwise?
NEALE: Diet Coke. And yes, I drink it fully aware of all the artificial ingredients.
SCREEN: Cubs or Sox?
NEALE: Cubs. Like most other die-hard north side fans, it was the way I was raised…even though I was raised south of the south side in Indiana!
SCREEN: What's the last movie you saw in a theater?
NEALE: I saw the Chicago premier of contemporary artist Takashi Murakami's first film—“Jellyfish Eyes” at the MCA. Interesting film. I couldn't tell if it was a farce or a homage to old Japanese TV like “Ultraman,” or “Johnny Socko.” Either way, it was Murakami's version of Pokeyman meets Godzilla and worth seeing.
SCREEN: What's your favorite gadget?
NEALE: On a silver chain around my neck, I have a small all metal Swiss army knife and a jump drive. I picked up the knife in Lucerne, Switzerland many years ago on my first successful global business trip. I've added the jump drive a few years back. "Mechanical" meets "digital." Strange thing is, I've recently found out that the Swiss Army company now makes a knife with a folding out jump drive.
