EMPIRE Picked Up, To Film In Chicago

Fox has picked up hip hop drama EMPIRE for a full series and it will film in Chicago.
Illinois Film Office Director Betsy Steinberg confirmed the news, saying "we are thrilled by the news of EMPIRE being picked up for series and our chance to shine once again in prime time TV."
The pilot for the family drama set in New York City and based in the world of a hip-hop empire, was shot in Chicago is directed by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong. It stars Chicago-born actor Terrence Howard as Lucious Lyon, who is about to take his company, Empire Entertainment, public.
The series will feature both original and current music, according to the network. The series is produced by Imagine Entertainment and 20th Century Fox Television.
