October 15, 2014 by Screenmag
On October 17th, the feature length documentary, LAKAY opens at AMC Theatres in Chicago and Florida. One week later, the film expands to New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta.
LAKAY tells the story of two brothers, Alexius and Romeo, who are on a mission to locate and find their loved ones after the earthquake. Drawn back to Haiti by the devastation, these filmmakers reveal the tragedy caused by this natural disaster from an intimate and personal perspective.
"Can only be experienced through movie-going eyes," says Ingrid Hadasah of HarlemWorldMag.com, while Pat McDonald of hollywoodchicago.com gives the film "5 Out of 5 Stars."
LAKAY is the second theatrical release and fourth feature film produced by Chicago-based 4 Features Film Co. Based on the company's reputation and audience reviews, the AMC Theater chain picked the documentary up for a limited run. It is a rare and amazing opportunity for an indie feature to be shown in this manner, so please be sure to support this film by heading out to enjoy it in theaters this weekend.
LAKAY opens 10/17 in Chicagoland and Florida and on 10/24 in New York, LA and Atlanta.
