Schwarzenegger to Detroit?

To say the least it's been a tough summer for Michigan, but here's some good news. Though legislation was signed into law eliminating the program for film and digital media incentives, there were a few productions approved before this legislation took effect. So there will be a little more work for Michigan film and television industry professionals this summer.

SCHWARZENEGGER TO DETROIT? It's highly likely Arnold will be spending some time in the city, as the movie NORTH, which stars his 21-year-old son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, will be filming there through August. Jacob Lofland of 2012's MUD, Sophie Kennedy Clark of 2013's PHILOMENA, and Detroit actor Atif Hashwi round out the cast for this thriller centered in a post-cataclysmic world.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS: Spending the holidays with the Royal family begins in August at some familiar metro Detroit locales. TV One’s original holiday movies, ROYAL FAMILY THANKSGIVING and ROYAL FAMILY CHRISTMAS are currently filming in metro Detroit through early September.

Featuring an ensemble cast including Vivica Fox (INDEPENDENCE DAY, SOUL FOOD) and Romeo Miller (BROTHERLY LOVE, MADEA'S WITNESS PROTECTION), the stories follow a middle-class African American family as they navigate the ups and downs of family relationships strained by the holiday season. ROYAL FAMILY THANKSGIVING premieres 8 p.m. EST Saturday, Nov. 21, and ROYAL FAMILY CHRISTMAS will air 8 p.m. EST Saturday Dec. 5 on TV One.

Anyone interested in seeking work as a member of the film crew should send his/her resume to RoyalTCProductions@gmail.com.
