Cap Gun Collective’s Matt Abramson Answers Five Questions

In the latest installment of our regular running feature Cap Gun Collective’s Executive Producer Matt Abramson answers Five Questions with SCREEN.

SCREEN: Can you cook? If so, what's your go-to dish?

ABRAMSON: Love to cook! My go-to meal is little necks on the grill. I geek out over this - here are the few simple steps.

1.Put the clams in the sink and fill with water, pour in a cap of white vinegar which helps get the sand out;

2.Put the clams on tin foil, squeeze lemons, pour on white wine, thyme and red pepper flakes;

3.Put on the grill until they open- they are delicious and the broth is bananas.

SCREEN: What's your most-played iPod track?

ABRAMSON: I listen to Pandora, specifically the Levon Helm station.

SCREEN: Describe your perfect Sunday?

ABRAMSON: Perfect Sunday is an early breakfast out with my wife and daughter followed by a trip to the park, swings and bubbles. Ideally a quick nap, then watching the Patriots play if it’s NFL season. My wife and I really like cooking together once the baby goes to sleep, a little wine and early to bed.

SCREEN: What's your favorite drink, alcoholic or otherwise?

ABRAMSON: I am a man’s man. I love to get loud on sauvignon blanc or sancerre!

SCREEN: What's the last movie you saw in a theater?

ABRAMSON: NEBRASKA, right before our daughter was born. She’s 16 months now and we haven’t been to a movie theatre since!

SCREEN: What's your favorite place to spend a week? A weekend? Two weeks?

ABRAMSON: My wife and I are both from the East Coast- (Boston) and our favorite place to spend any amount of time is Cape Cod. We got married there three years ago and we try to get back there whenever possible. I love being near the beach, the clean air, and the seafood.

BONUS QUESTION:

SCREEN: What's your favorite American city? Foreign city?

ABRAMSON: Favorite foreign city is Copenhagen; I studied there in college and love everything about it. The sights, the people, the way of life. I think in theory I might be a socialist. During my time there I stayed with a wonderful host family. Last month we took a trip there and got to spend time with them again and they got to meet my amazing wife and daughter. It was fantastic.

Chicago is my favorite American city. I’ve lived here for almost 13 years and it’s the absolute best. I’ve had every job imaginable here from waiting tables, acting, SAT tutoring, advertising agency producing and running a production company. There are so many opportunities here, the people are amazing and the food is insane!
