Award-winning director Rob Pritts has joined Lucky 21. Pritts is known for bringing out the comedic foibles of the human condition. At Lucky 21 he joins a select directing roster that includes Jeff Bednarz, Tom Ryan and The Chartrands.
“I love that Lucky 21 is intimate by design, but also has tremendous reach and vibrant energy,” says Pritts, “I felt a great connection with the team from our very first conversation, which was intended to be a brief introduction and lasted hours.”
The Los Angeles-based Pritts has forged a career rooted in presenting familiar situations in uncommon ways for a truly comedic effect. His talent has earned him an impressive client list that includes such noted brands as LG, Charter, AT&T, SEGA, Twix, Snickers, Altoids, Minute Maid, M&M’s, AXE, American Express, ESPN, Dr. Pepper and Molson.
“Rob is a wonderful complement to our director roster,” says EP John Gilliland. “His comedic vantage point and mastery of directing performance, are matched with deep experience and passion for the craft and our industry.”
Pritts owned the comedy claim from a young age. Coming from a large Chicago family and lacking athletic prowess, his improvised defense mechanism led him to acting, film school and ultimately to directing. His very first spot, “Bob In a Box,” won a Gold Clio, and he went on to win the trust of celebrity and athletic talents, including Jerry Seinfeld and Denis Leary, William Shatner, Kobe Byrant, Jeff Gordon and John Elway.
Pritts sees directing as part psychology and loves to “hunt for the concept’s original inspiration.” It’s in this collaboration with agency and client he helps find comedy gold.
