Chicago Screenwriting Duo Scores with OTHER PLANS

It's a big week for Chicago screenwriters Eric Anderson and Amelia Dellos as their romantic comedy OTHER PLANS debuts on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play.

It's been a long road, as it often is with screenwriters, for Anderson and Dellos, but well worth the wait. "The first draft was written nearly ten years ago and went through a number of iterations before being optioned by director/producer Joe Eckardt, who we'd met through a mutual acquaintance in the early 2000's," explained Anderson. "The story was originally set here in Chicago, but when Joe said he'd found the money to make it if he could shoot in New York, we went back to work transforming the setting based on his location notes. As for when we knew this was really going to happen? Once the cameras started rolling. Until that day, anything can happen."

The film stars Jamie Kennedy (“Scream”), Malik Yoba (TV’s “Empire” and “New York Undercover”), Rebecca Blumhagen (TV’s “A Girl’s Guide to Depravity”), Michael Kostroff (TV’s “The Wire”), WWE Legend and film star Rowdy Roddy Piper (“They Live”) and is directed by Joe Eckardt (“Pizza Man” and “High Hopes”). While shot in New York, the screenplay was written by Eric Anderson and Amelia Dellos of Chicago-based Corn Bred Films.

A modern-day twist on the Cinderella story, OTHER PLANS is the story of Claire Combs (Blumhagen), who has planned her perfect life: to get the perfect job and marry the perfect man. When, by a twist of fate and touch of magical intervention by her Fairy Godfather (Yoba) she mistakes a maintenance man, Nathan McKeon (Kennedy), for an eccentric billionaire and finds herself falling in love with a man who has no place in her plan. Claire must face the limitations of her life plan and choose whether to follow her head or follow her heart to the man of her dreams.

Dellos and Anderson are looking ahead to future projects for Corn Bred Films. "We want to use this momentum to move our next project ORIOLE PARK from pre-production into production," said Dellos. "Our long term goal for Corn Bred Films is to be in a position to not only produce our work, but produce a variety of projects from talented filmmakers working in the Midwest."

OTHER PLANS has been released exclusively on iTunes, Google Play and Amazon this week. Visit our TRAILER PARK for a preview and to purchase your copy!
