March 10, 2015 by Mike McNamara
Score one more for Chicago. Feature length comedy THE HEAD THIEVES arrived Sunday night from Los Angeles to start post-production at Periscope Post and Audio, headquartered within Chicago's Cinespace Studios. Executive Producer and actor Mickey Gooch, Writer/Director Mike Hermosa and Editor Neal Chisholm will be here for the next few weeks to complete the film. If you'd like to meet these gents in person, they are hosting an event this Wednesday, March 11th at The Fireplace Inn, 1448 N. Wells, starting at 8pm with an open invitation to the local entertainment community to meet and introduce the project.
THE HEAD THIEVES is a story about three brothers who develop an elaborate plan to recover stolen cash and end up on the run. The film was shot in and around Turlock, California and stars Daniel Baldwin (HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET), Dante Basco (BLOOD AND BONE, HOOK), Dion Basco (CITY GUYS), Andy Dick, Mickey Gooch, Sandy Martin (NAPOLEON DYNAMITE) and Bojesse Christopher (POINT BREAK). This comedy marks the debut for director Mike Hermosa, who served two tours with the Air Force in the Middle East before returning home to California and co-founding Collective Vision Entertainment.
Michael Nehs, CEO of Periscope Post and Audio said; “It’s great to offer our services not only to local film and television makers but also to producers from around the country and bring that work back to Illinois. We are honored to be the post solution for The Head Thieves.”
Mickey Gooch, Executive Producer and one of the stars of THE HEAD THIEVES added, “We are extremely excited to bring our film to Chicago and the team at Periscope. There are a lot of challenges in making an independent film, and we couldn’t be happier with the feedback and guidance we have received.”
A theatrical and digital release of THE HEAD THIEVES is slated for later this year. As always, I'll keep you posted!
