Tyler Roth Answers Five Questions
May 27, 2015 by Screenmag
In the latest installment of our regular running feature, Tyler Roth, Senior Colorist with Company 3, answers Five Questions with SCREEN.
SCREEN: Can you cook? If so, what's your go-to dish?
ROTH: My Mom shared her love for cooking with me. I enjoy making just about anything, but I do an awesome veal and red wine sauce that's great with a nice seared ribeye. The sauce reduces down over a few hours so make sure you have some cooking wine. Of course, I mean wine to drink while you're cooking, not wine to cook with.
SCREEN: What's your most-played iPod track?
ROTH: The 'Stuff You Should Know' podcast is on my phone all the time. How else am I going to learn about the origins of silly putty or how stem cells work?
SCREEN: What's the last movie you saw in a theater?
ROTH: MAD MAX and wow. Incredible visuals, sound design, score, everything … go see MAD MAX.
SCREEN: What's your favorite American city? Foreign city?
ROTH: My wife and I love Miami. We rent scooters and search for cool, hole-in-the-wall restaurants. Foreign city, I was amazed by Rome. It's a big, modern city like Chicago but then you turn the corner and there's the Pantheon. Really incredible.
SCREEN: What's your favorite gadget?
ROTH: My home brewery. Ten gallon fermentors, mash tuns, copper coils, hydrometers, in-line thermometers, refractometers … you did say favorite gadgets plural, correct?
SCREEN: Any big plans coming up?
ROTH: Honeymoon in Spain for the first two weeks of June. Expand the brewery. Continue to broaden the scope of work at Company 3 Chicago. I have been grading more film and television projects alongside my existing commercial work and enjoy the variety. Keeps things fresh.
