ARU to Host CHIVR Meetup and Debut Audio for VR Services

Audio post production studio ARU will launch a new range of immersive sound services while hosting the fourth CHIVR virtual reality meetup group at their Michigan Avenue facility on November 9th, 2016 at 5:00pm.
The event will bring together technology enthusiasts, advertising and media professionals, software engineers, and artists and creatives to demo the latest virtual reality headsets, with featured software, media and games from Chicago-based companies.
ARU will offer demonstrations of audio tools for 360 degree video and cinematic VR, including Facebook 360 and Dolby Atmos, as well as recording techniques with specialty surround-sound microphones.
Partner Mark Zeboski said “VR is an exciting new medium which will require new tools, workflows and expertise to produce engaging and immersive soundtracks. ARU is poised to be the first audio post facility in Chicago to offer our experience in spatialized sound and associated technologies to producers of VR content."
The evening will begin with introductions from featured speakers and an opportunity for questions. Attendees will then be free to tour ARU’s studios, network, and participate in the demo sessions. Refreshments including beer and pizza will be available throughout the evening.

Participants will have a chance to demo the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift CV1, Oculus Touch, and Samsung Gear VR. Among the featured software and games will be Life of Lon, the VR story game from Block Interval currently in development [ http://www.LifeofLon.com ].
The CHIVR meetup group is designed so that thought leaders in the tech industry can come together, hear panelists speak, try out new hardware and software, and network with others who are innovating.
