Burrell's Carlo Treviso Answers Five Questions

In the latest installment of our popular feature, Carlo Treviso, Senior Digital Producer at Burrell and Founder of Carlo Treviso Pictures, answers Five Questions with SCREEN.
SCREEN: What’s the best thing you ever ate?
TREVISO: Pistachio gelato in Sicily. Changed my life. #alltheitalianfood
SCREEN: Most famous person you’ve ever met?
TREVISO: One night, while working as a PA on the film Batman Begins, I was near the monitor helping to set it up for the next shot. Suddenly, director Christopher Nolan walked up to me and said “thank you.” Does that count?
SCREEN: Carlo, we know you’re a sci-fi fan. Give us your top three sci-fi movies ever, in order.
TREVISO: It's practically an impossible feat to rank the best three sci-fi films, in order. Here’s my best stab:
GATTACA – "You want to know how I did it? This is how I did it. I never saved anything for the swim back.” Best screenplay ever. Uncanny predictions of genetic-engineering. Particularly enjoyed the murder-mystery thread and overarching theme of pursuing your dreams against all odds.
The Prestige – The entire film was a magic trick! I personally could’ve done without the sci-fi ending but it still made for a great cinematic experience. Christopher Nolan’s best film and one of my all-time faves.
Minority Report – One of Spielberg’s best opening prologue sequences next to Saving Private Ryan. Entertaining, profound, and great exploration of pre-determined destiny versus free-will.
Honorable mention: V for Vendetta, Inception, Gravity, Back The Future, The Dark Knight, District 9, Star Wars, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Children of Men, Moon, Ex Machina, Interstellar. Oh, and how could I forget VESSEL, Freeborn, and Adirondack.
SCREEN: Favorite gadget?
TREVISO: PS4 for it’s streaming, gaming, and Blu-Ray. Excited for the VR bundle. Particularly the Star Wars Battlefront X-Wing Experience.
SCREEN: Any predictions for 2017?
TREVISO: Higher demand for VR experiences and the new narrative language that comes with it. No longer are filmmakers limited to cuts, pans, close-ups, over-the-shoulders. The canvas is 360 degrees and the audience now create their own edits in real-time simply by turning their head. But on a side note, hopefully Elon Musk’s Hyperloop project really takes off.
