Black Apple Media's Big News

It's going to be a busy 2017 for Black Apple Media, not to mention their numerous Chicago collaborators. Black Apple Media, the Chicago-based development and production company, has announced its slate of film projects for 2016 – 2017, as well as a new music video division. Let's take a look at the highlights here in this SCREEN Magazine exclusive. The feature films, new media series and television pilots heading into production over the next six to twelve months include:
DREAM DETECTIVE, New Media Series, Filming October 2016
Jack Yancy, Dream Detective, is a private investigator operating in the borderlands of this world and somewhere in the Twilight Zone. Each episode of the Dream Detective series explore an unique case that takes Jack Yancy and his clients deep into the subconscious and into the dreams of the city itself. In partnership with Arc of a Bird Productions, Produced by Sarajane Crowley and Angie Gaffney, Directed, Written, and Produced by Hugh Schulze, Casting Director Sarah Clark.
PUBLIC HOUSING UNIT, TV Pilot, Filming December 2016
Public Housing Unit tells the story of three Chicago cops butting heads with cop, criminal, and politician alike in an endless crusade to protect the citizens of Chicago Public Housing in the late 1980s. In partnership with Digital Hydra and Chicago Media Angels, Executive Produced by Angie Gaffney, Ted Reilly, Pat Wimp, Written by Pat Wimp, Directed by Dan Willis, Casting Director Sarah Clark
UNTITLED ZACK PARKER FILM, Feature Film, Filming 2017
Along the Tracks Productions and Black Apple Media are developing the latest feature film from acclaimed thriller director Zack Parker. Producer Angie Gaffney is developing for Black Apple.
MONUMENTS, Feature Film, Filming 2017
A man determined to scatter his wife's ashes by breaking into New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art goes on a cross-country trip in a stolen car. In partnership with Zaxie, Produced by Angie Gaffney, Jack Newell and Shane Simmons, Written and Directed by Jack C. Newell.
Projects in Post + Pilot Heading to NYTVF
Black Apple also has a few newsworthy productions in post, the most notable this month being the TV Pilot GUIDANCE, which will be on the big screen at the prestigious New York Television Festival at the end of this month. GUIDANCE enjoyed a special sneak preview at the Midwest Independent Film Festival this past Tuesday and is written, directed, and produced by Josh Wolff. 2017 will bring the release of family adventure feature THRILL RIDE, produced by Angie Gaffney and Kevin McGrail in partnership with Masons Movies, executive produced by Vince Foglia, written and directed by Chris Parrish.
Additionally, Black Apple was proud to work with the Chicago Film Project and Full Spectrum Features on SIGNATURE MOVE, an independent feature film penned by Fawzia Mirza and Lisa Donato, which shot in Chicago in August. Produced by Brian Hieggelke, Eugene Sun Park and Fawzia Mirza, and directed by Jennifer Reeder. SIGNATURE MOVE is currently in post-production.

And the New Division of Development for Black Apple Is...
Recently, Black Apple has also expanded to music video production. Previous projects include collaborating with Austin Vesely and Chance the Rapper on the music video, "Sunday Candy," with Black Apple’s Angie Gaffney serving as Line Producer.
Additionally, Black Apple recently completed production on the latest music video from artist Marty Casey, entitled "What You Want." In partnership with Clark Street Films, Produced by Heston Charres, Directed and Produced by Mike Leber.
“We believe that all great music tells an equally great story that can help expand the reach of a piece into multiple different mediums," Associate Producer Heston Charres told SCREEN. "Black Apple is committed to bringing high production value and cinematic style to help support these stories, and collaborating with artists to highlight new ones.”
Black Apple is actively looking for new musicians and artists to partner with to expand their music video division.
