September 20, 2016 by Screenmag
This Wednesday the new documentary CHASING BUBBLES lands at the Logan Theater (click here for tix) but before it does, the film's co-director and Leo Burnett Senior Producer Topher Cochrane stopped by for Five Questions with SCREEN.
SCREEN: If you could appoint ANYONE to be the next President of the United States, who would it be and why?
COCHRANE: David Letterman is available, and seems to care a lot about the average American.
SCREEN: Tell us about CHASING BUBBLES in 30 words or less.
COCHRANE: It's a documentary I made about a wild guy I met at a party in Chicago. I heard it described as “Into The Wild” meets “The Endless Summer.”
SCREEN: Your go-to karaoke song?
COCHRANE: “Life During Wartime” (with approximate choreography) because this ain’t no fooling around.
SCREEN: You've been cast in Avengers 3. What role are you playing?
COCHRANE: It’d be cool to turn green and burst out of a pair of purple shorts.
SCREEN: What is your fondest memory from making CHASING BUBBLES?
COCHRANE: Definitely hearing Alex tell his stories. I’d ask him a question and his eyes would light up with excitement as he unraveled these unbelievable yarns. We spent a Christmas eve driving around his hometown talking to cops and bartenders and local-yokels that he grew up with. They each had their own version of some jaw dropping story or event from Alex’s past.
SCREEN: Most famous person you've met?
COCHRANE: David Hasselhoff...
