Chicago Pilot Showcase Tuesday; SNL, Second City, iO Talent Starring

Midwest-made TV pilots take center stage at First Tuesdays with The Midwest Independent Film Festival this Tuesday, October 4th, with festivities beginning at Landmark's Century Centre Cinema at 6 p.m. The 12th Annual New York Television Festival (NYTVF) has announced its official selections for this year’s Independent Pilot Competition and there are seven Midwest-made productions among this year’s picks. The Midwest Independent Film Festival will be presenting all seven pilots on October 4th before they make their official premiere at NYTVF this fall. The showcase will also include premieres of two brand new pilots, one from the legendary improv duo of T.J. Jagodowski and David Pasquesi and one from the Executive Producers of TEACHERS, currently in production on its second season for TV Land. Filmmakers will be in attendance for a post-screening discussion with the audience.

And the nine Midwest pilots in this year's showcase are…

TJ & Dave: In the spirit of the iconic long-running improv show "TJ & Dave," all scenes in this pilot are fully improvised on the day of the shoot. The only thing known going in is where they're shooting. Created by T.J. Jagodowski, David Pasquesi and Ron Lazzeretti.

Sickos: This Cap Gun TV Production was created by Laura McKenzie, Mary Winn Heider and Laura Grey, directed by Matt Miller and produced by P.J. Fishwick.

Curfeud: Official Selection, 2016 New York Television Festival. Two kooky-but-loving parents try to keep tabs on their endless supply of curfew-breaking adult children in this improv-friendly series featuring a who’s who of Chicago comedy. Created by Jeff Murdoch and Jo Scott. Here's the trailer!
