ELECTRIC DREAMS Starts Filming This Week
April 18, 2017 by Mike McNamara
PHILIP K. DICK'S ELECTRIC DREAMS begins shooting in Chicago on Wednesday. The production will be headquartered at Chicago Studio City and it looks like the first day of filming will land cast and crew in Chicago's Old Irving Park neighborhood. Oscar nominee Bryan Cranston of TRUMBO and BREAKING BAD fame (pictured left) will executive produce the series and appear in at least one episode.
The science fiction television anthology series based on the works of Philip K. Dick will consist of ten standalone episodes based on Dick's work, written by both British and American writers, and will be broadcast on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom and Amazon Video in the United States.
“This is an electric dream come true,” Cranston said in an earlier statement. “We are so thrilled to be able to explore and expand upon the evergreen themes found in the incredible work of this literary master.”
If this is the first you're hearing of Philip K. Dick, it's likely you've seen his work before. His scripts have been adapted into such popular titles as BLADE RUNNER, TOTAL RECALL and the Tom Cruise thriller MINORITY REPORT, which also filmed in Chicago.
More on Cranston and ELECTRIC DREAMS heading your way soon as production continues through this month and next.
