Plenty of production this summer, both around Chicago and throughout the Midwest. Here is a quick rundown of some of the commercial productions shooting this summer...

STORY director Ky Dickens is directing a spot for the pharmaceutical company AbbVie next week, on Thursday August 17th. The job shoots in Oak Park, with Sydney Thomson producing for STORY.

Quriosity has a large photography shoot for ComEd currently underway at Cinespace through the end of this week. Quriosity is working with the marketing agency PACO Collective and Photographer Jim Luning. Senior Producer for the shoot is Jenny Lumpkin and Print Production Coordinator is Yajaira Marie Quinto.

p3 mediaworks just wrapped up a shoot for CareerBuilder in South Falls, Idaho. Directed by Corey Gilbert, this documentary-style profile video of a job-seeker is part of an ongoing series of videos celebrating the power of finding your calling.

Heading a bit south, STORY director John Komnenich recently wrapped a shoot for DDB and their client Emerson. The production filmed in Austin, Texas and St. Louis. The spot will run in the fall and when it's released, we will have it for you right here at SCREEN.

Potenza Productions recently created a social media spot with agency Upshift Creative, for luxury real estate client Niche 905. Working with the branding #MyChicagoNiche, director Rocco Cataldo crafted the fun testimonial spot to feature residents calling out their favorite amenities. Produced by Mary Kay Cook and shot by cinematographer Mike Kwielford, the video recently went live on Facebook, with over 11,000 views to date. See for yourself!

On the post side...

Periscope Post and Audio is finishing up a new two-minute spot and two new 30-second spots for Amideast, an American non-profit organization engaged in international education, training and development activities in the Middle East and North Africa. The spots focus on their upcoming gala at the Beverly Hilton. The two-minute spot highlights the charity and the 30-second spots announce the artists that will be performing at the October gala, which include multi-platinum artist Najwa Karam and Lebanese-Armenian musician, composer and pianist Guy Manoukian. The spots will air starting mid-August.

Periscope is also color-grading a two-minute spot from Big Teeth Productions, highlighting campus safety for The Office of Public and Government Affairs at University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC). ANd in one non-commercial note, Periscope provided Near-Set Dailies services for the baseball pilot VENDORS earlier this summer. Here's SCREEN columnist Mike McNamara's article with more about VENDORS.
