Rowley Samuel, Gay Guthrey Start New Company
February 7, 2018 by Screenmag
Gay Guthrey and Rowley Samuel announced that they have partnered to form a new company, SamuelGuthrey, a representation firm that will serve both U.S. and international markets. The announcement of the company's foundation appeared on Linkedin yesterday as well as on their individual Facebook pages.
Guthrey has been representing talent as Gay Guthrey & Associates in the Midwest and Texas for more than two decades, building relationships with both agencies and production partners.
Samuel recently left his post at Energy BBDO as Head of Integrated Production late last year to partner with Guthrey. He led production at the agency for nearly seven years working on large-scale global productions as well as small budget, award-winning in-house projects. He also built Energy BBDO’s in-house content production group and pioneered BBDO’s proprietary ‘crowd-sourcing' platform, Flare Studio.
Prior to joining BBDO, Rowley was Director of Creative Integration at DDB Chicago and, before that, Partner in London production company Arden Sutherland-Dodd.
“Bringing on Rowley as a partner will help me future-proof the firm that I have built. He will help me re-think some of our strategies in order to appeal to a new generation of clients that have a much broader range of content needs,” Guthrey said in the post on Linkedin.
“As we look to the future, our mission at SamuelGuthrey is to offer the same world-class service to agencies that Gay has always provided. We will continue connecting them with some of the greatest film-makers in the business. We also intend to build relationships and open up new opportunities for our talent across the worlds of tech and social media platforms, branded experience and entertainment" Samuel said on LinkedIn.
The company's website is live at SamuelGuthrey.com.
